J.Chris started her marketing and graphic design firm, InfoPower Communications, in 1994. Her clients ranged from local businesses to educational institutions throughout California. Prior to IPC, she was the Director of the Gilroy Visitors Bureau and had been the marketing and membership director for the Gilroy Chamber of Commerce.
The publishing of Gilroy Today in 2006 was a way for J.Chris to incorporate her love of writing with community activism. With the combining of Gilroy Today and Morgan Hill Today, she hopes to provide a sense of oneness for the residents of Gilroy, San Martin and Morgan Hill. She feels strongly that our strength is in the development of pride, not just in our individual communities but in the larger community that is the South Santa Clara Valley.
J.Chris was honored as the Gilroy Chamber of Commerce's Woman of the Year in 2004 for her years of service to the community; helping form the Gilroy Leadership Foundation and serving as its founding president; and serving on the board of directors for the St. Joseph's Family Center and the Gilroy Rotary Club, of which she has been a member since 1989. She was also on the original organizing committee for the Gilroy Garlic Festival in 1979 and has since served as chair on both the Entertainment and Marketing committees. Currently, J.Chris is on the Gilroy Foundation Advisory Board, a member of the Gilroy Assistance League (GALs), and is a senior-active member of the Rotary Club of Gilroy. She also enjoys visiting the Morgan Hill Rotary.
In addition to helping publish gmhToday, Larry is the publication's photographer and writer. Always curious, the creativity of photography and writing are a welcome release for Larry. Born in Nevada, raised in Los Angeles, Larry has the good fortune to have lived not only in many places around the US but also in Hong Kong and in the Philippines.
After 22 years in public education, Larry joined InfoPower Communications. He is active in the Gilroy community, having served on the board of directors for the Gilroy Garlic Festival, Gilroy Downtown Association and the Gilroy Sister Cities Association. He currently serves on the Gilroy Rotary Club and GilPAC board of directors.
Larry is often at Gilroy Chamber events as the official photographer for the Gilroy Chamber of Commerce and at events throughout the area as the photographer for gmhToday.
